The compact and rugged design of the low-noise (60dB) Facit N4000 Reader/Punch Combination, makkes it ideal in both mobile and stationary applications. The full set of code conversions makes N4000 fit for both telex applications, using 5 track tape and NC-applications, for the shop floor. N4000 can punch both 5 5 track and 8 track tapes without any manual adjustment. Also by reading the tape width can easily be changed. Punching is performed at a speed of up to 75 characters per second and reading at up to 500 characters per second. N4000 is equipped with two serial ports and a buffer of more than 9000 characters. Communication protocols and other parameters are programmed through an easy to use keyboard placed on the top of the machine.
